AIM

This program is aimed at anyone who is interested in understanding how to effectively and appropriately harness diagnostic tools currently available in order to provide the best benefit to their patients. The two day program will provide an intense visual, hands-on, and didactic experience in diagnostic and clinical immunology, allowing the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field. Participants will spend time in case-based teaching sessions, small group and large group sessions, and hear didactic lectures from leaders in the field.


WHO CAN APPLY?

We are seeking applicants from a variety of backgrounds and specialties and encourage anyone interested in learning more about these tools to apply.

  • Fellows and Residents-in-Training;
  • Junior Physicians and/or scientists (within 3 years of fellowship);
  • Physicians and scientists from geographically or otherwise under-served or under-developed areas;
  • Mid-Career Physicians and/or scientists (within 5-8 years of fellowship)

We especially encourage junior physicians or scientists working in clinical immunology laboratories to apply.


APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Individuals who are interested in attending the Diagnostic School must submit the following materials as their application.

  • A CV, no more than four (4) pages
  • A brief, 500 word statement on why you want to attend, how you plan to utilize the training, and how your career will benefit by attending
  • A one (1) page case study illustrating how diagnostic testing made a definitive diagnosis for a patient with a primary immune deficiency or immune dysregulatory disorder, or was used to guide therapy.  The one page case report should include pertinent clinical and laboratory information, along with any flow or genetic data or figures
  • FOR FELLOWS/RESIDENTS ONLY —a letter of recommendation from a current faculty member
