The 2014 Annual Meeting: Primary Immune Deficiency Diseases North American Conference took place April 10 – 13, 2014 at the Hilton Baltimore. The 2014 meeting was attended by over 450 physicians and researchers working in the primary pathologic processes in various primary immunodeficiences. Through lectures, panel discussions and networking during the meeting, clinicians and researchers came away with an improved knowledge of primary immunodeficiences. In addition to the formal presentations there were poster sessions and schedule breaks to allow for networking. Along with the 2014 Annual Meeting, CIS co-hosted, with the Association of Medical Laboratory Immunologists (AMLI), the pre-conference School on Diagnostic Assessment of Immune Phenotyping and Function in PIDs on Thursday, April 10th. The program covered the latest advances in diagnostic testing for primary immunodeficiencies, the interface between the laboratory and the clinician in diagnosis and management, and future trends in clinical diagnostic immunology.
